Tamara's explanation seems to be a philosophy that underlies the vision to the execution of its design. Not only applied to the projects he handled in the shade of Tamara Wibowo Architects design studio which he founded in 2015. But also materialized in full on his private residence, namely Bukit Kopi Residence , located in Semarang.
In a 600-square-meter house that stands on an area of 1000 m2, Tamara explicitly convey an architectural language that prioritizes the synergy and harmonization between outdoor and indoor areas . "In this house, any openings given frame covered with wood so the view obtained will always be framed into the house," said Tamara .

All materials used naturally presented, such as teak wood with natural finishing , polished concrete on the floor, and raw acian on the wall. "This is done to create an honest and honest architecture. Architecture that has the integrity of its material character, "said Tamara who claimed to be inspired from homes that have courtyard in the middle, one of which is Hooper House II in Baltimore, Maryland, United States, by architects and furniture designer Marcel Breuer .

In the design process, the location of the land on the street corner is responded by two transparent house facades to blend the exterior and interior of the dwelling. Vegetation that already exist in the location, one of the mango tree that has grown tens of years, also used as a starting point for the development of design ideas.

"The initial challenge is how to create a 600 m2 house that does not seem too big, but still utilize a large area of land. As a solution, the house is divided into three parts as wide as each room so that still leaves the courtyard in the middle for family recreation activities, "said the architect.

"In my opinion, the work of architecture always takes part of nature. So the work of architecture should also give back to nature. The trick is to create a design that focuses on nature and presents the elements of nature, "
Tamara Wibowo

The three parts Tamara refers to are living , office and garage areas, and the service area, whose layout is arranged by the location of the previously mentioned mango tree.

In these three sections, large openings are present on both sides of each room to bring in sunlight and facilitate air circulation in the room.

Aspects of residential interiors are also not spared from the power of Tamara , because according to him, anything that happens in the exterior direct result and even form the interior space. "The focus of home interior design is to create a natural flow of motion from one room to another. Provides a memorable experience of light effects that enter through the skylights or visual connections between spaces and between interior-exterior, "said Tamara .

Bukit Kopi Residence presents an impressive interior and architectural experience through a two-way interaction between the exterior and the interior. The result is an unparalleled visual and leisure attraction.

"Interior elements such as in-built furniture are made simple and functional so that they remain focused on the spaces formed from the architecture of the house," explains the mother of three children who favor the dining room that has four large pivot openings on both sides of the room so air can flow with very efficient.
