Building Utility is a completeness of building facilities used to support the achievement of elements of comfort, health, safety, then kominikasi and mobility in buildings. 
   
     Arrangements of current building always pay attention and include utility facilities which are coordinated with other design, such as architecture design, structure design, interior design and other design.

1. Plumbing and Sanitation Design

     Plumbing and Sanitation Planning While plumbing systems are a system of water supply and associated sewerage systems and are eligible alloys, in the form of regulations and regulations, implementation guidelines, standards on equipment and installations. A good plumbing system depends on a good plumbing plumbing system as well. In addition to piping, there is a close relationship between water supply and sanitation issues, where sanitation is directly related to the following aspects:

  • Health. 
  • Water usage. 
  • Waste processing and disposal.

2. Design of Fire Prevention

     To avoid the occurrence of fire in a building, need a way or system of fire prevention because fire hazard can cause loss of human victim, property, disruption of production process of goods and services, environmental damage and disruption of society. 

Fire hazards can be classified into several groups:


  • Light hazard 

     It is a hazard to burn in places where there are substances that have low burnt ease value and in case of fire releases low heat and spreading slow flame.

  • Medium fire hazard.
  • Heavy fire hazard. 

     It is a burning hazard in places where there are materials that have high burnout value and in case of fire releases very high heat and sparks fire very quickly. The design of this system is closely related to the plumbing system because in order to minimize the danger of fire disasters, the system developed around water drainage, as a blackout media to prevent large-scale fire hazard, such prevention system are:

  • Hydrant system 
  • Sprinkle system

3. Air / Space Design

     To achieve the comfort, health and freshness of living in dwellings or high rise buildings, in particular activities undertaken in tropical climates with hot air and high humidity, it is necessary to get fresh air from natural or flowing airflow artificial air. Airborne or airborne planning is planning to get the right airflow for the room and its control.

4. Design Lighting / lighting

     In planning lighting and lighting the building is intended for the building gets the lighting and lighting is good during the day and at night. Currently the utilization of lighting is used natural source and has been arranged based on SNI 03 - 2396 - 2001 about "The procedure of designing natural lighting system in building building". 

     In addition, in lighting planning or lighting also consider the artificial lighting standard set forth in SNI 03- 6575-2001 on "Artificial lighting system design procedure in buildings". 5. Telephone Design The design of the telephone in the building should consider the planning of the communication system between the room (intercom) and the planning of the external communication system.

     This design should also consider the cabling arrangement system in the building in such a way that it does not interfere with the aesthetics of the building and to facilitate the maintenance. Planning weak currents of the phone, the telephone system must use a connection system such as a channel for power generating the computer, the flow in the floor (floor duct).

5. Phone Design

6. CCTV Design and System Security

     CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) is a device that serves to monitor a room through a television screen or monitor, which displays an image of a camera recording installed in every corner of the room (usually hidden) desired by the security section. The exhibition and television system is limited to the building (closed). All activities in it can be monitored in a security room.

7. Design of lightning rod

     The security of multi-storey buildings from the dangers of lightning strikes needs to be done by installing a lightning rod on top of the building. This lightning rod should be installed on high buildings, at least 2-storey buildings, especially the tallest among the surroundings.

8. Design of Sound

     The sound system needs to be planned to provide facilities in the building. This sound can be background music and announcing system (public address) which serves as an ornamental room silence or if there are certain announcements. There is also a system for car calls, for public buildings. The equipment of the sound system can be, microphone, cassette deck, mix amplifier, speakers, speaker selector switch, volume control, and horn speaker (for car call).

9. Design of Transportation in buildings

     A large or tall building requires a means of transport to provide comfort in passing through the building. The means of transportation has a nature based on the direction of motion as a means of conveyance in the form of vertical directions in the form of elevators, horizontal direction in the form of conveyors, diagonal direction in the form of escalator.
